Bethany Kwoka joined PSE as a scientist in 2022. Their work focuses on building resilience and equity into energy system transitions.
Bethany received a Master’s in Climate Science and Policy from Scripps Institution of Oceanography at U.C. San Diego, where their research explored ways to simultaneously incorporate emissions reductions, community resilience, and climate adaptation into grid modernization efforts. While at Scripps, they developed a tool to analyze microgrid suitability for a range of policy goals in California and applied this tool to emerging policy.
Prior to graduate school, Bethany worked with climate and energy policy experts to communicate their work to non-technical audiences, advocated for binding climate laws across New England, and earned a BA from Brown University.
