On Thursday, May 11, from 11:00 – 12:00 pm ET the National Academies hosted a public release webinar for the The Role of Net Metering in the Evolving Electricity System report release. The briefing examined the reports findings on the medium-to-long term impacts of net metering on the electricity grid and customers and explored how net metering guidelines should evolve to support a decarbonized, equitable, and resilient electricity system. As a co-author of the report, Dr. Elena Krieger joined the webinar to present on its findings.
